Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. My car died on me within the area on the 4th of July. Being from out of town I wasn't sure where to get my car towed to, so I was recommended by the tow truck driver to go to Tarrytown Auto Care and I'm glad I took his advice. This shop was able to find the issue very quickly and got my car back on the road within 2 days. I wanted to wait before leaving this review, and I must say that my car has been running very smoothly since they've fixed it. Their pricing is fair, they work fast and their work is good, honestly hard to find good shops like this one nowadays. If I was a local, I'd bring my car here for all my repair needs.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Master Mohammed and his team! From the moment I brought my car in, he was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. His staff are equally wonderful—everyone is respectful, efficient, and really dedicated to their craft. It’s rare to find a mechanic who goes above and beyond like Mohammed does—he truly treats each customer and each car with care. I’m so grateful to have found him, and I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re looking for someone you can trust, Master Mohammed is absolutely the best!

Mr. Mohammad and his team are the best in the area! He has been helping me since the day I moved from California to New York, when I didn’t know anyone. He is incredibly humble, honest, and kind, and he never charges you for work that isn’t actually needed. There have been many times when I asked him to replace or fix something on my car, and he honestly told me that it wasn’t necessary at that time. That level of integrity is hard to find. The entire team is professional, efficient, and always gets my car repaired as quickly as possible. I’m so happy I found this auto care shop 5 years ago, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, reliable, and fair mechanic!

I had a great experience at Tarrytown Auto. The team was honest, professional, and very knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything clearly, completed the repairs efficiently, and charged a fair price. It’s not always easy to find a mechanic you can trust, but I felt confident that my car was in good hands. I highly recommend Tarrytown Auto to anyone looking for reliable and excellent service!

The only auto shop anyone should be going to!!! I was using AAA and they brought my car to Tarrytown Auto Center. I’ve never used anyone since! Honest, caring and meticulously run on a daily basis. These guys are thorough and expedient. I couldn’t be happier. Been 5 years now using them! Mohammed and Ahmad are the most professional and knowledgeable owners.
